Setting Up Your White-Labeled Mobile App with the Self-Service Customizer

Overview

The Self-Service White-Labeled Mobile App Customizer is a guided tool within the CRM that allows you to create, brand, build, and publish your own fully customized iOS and Android applications. This centralized workspace manages the entire process, from applying your branding and selecting features to connecting with the Apple App Store and Google Play Console for publishing. You can control the release process, track build status in real-time, and manage updates without needing to write code or submit support tickets.

Key Benefits

Using the customizer provides several advantages for launching and maintaining your branded app.

  • Speed to Market: Follow a streamlined, guided process to move from initial setup to store submission quickly.
  • No Development Required: Build and release your app without relying on a software developer.
  • Complete Brand Control: Upload your logos, set brand colors and fonts, and customize the navigation to ensure a consistent brand experience.
  • Priority Updates: Gain early access to new app versions and control the timing of their release.
  • Flexible Release Management: Choose to release builds internally for testing or directly to production.
  • Operational Oversight: Initiate new builds, monitor their progress live, and manage version changelogs.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following accounts and information ready to prevent delays or rejections from the app stores.

  • A valid D-U-N-S Number (required by Apple).
  • An Apple Developer Program organization account with access to App Store Connect.
  • A Google Play Console organization account.
  • An active CRM subscription that includes the Custom Agency App feature.
  • Publicly accessible URLs for your Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
  • It is recommended to have Admin or App Manager rights in App Store Connect and Admin or Release Manager rights in the Google Play Console.

How to Set Up Your App

1. Access the Customizer and Create Your App

Navigate to the Agency view in your CRM and select Mobile App. Click on the app selection icon to begin. You will be prompted to enter an App Name and a Domain Name. The system will automatically generate a unique package name and bundle identifier for you based on this information.

2. Apply Your Branding

Go to the Customisation > Branding section. Here you can upload your app icon in the required sizes, as well as logos for the splash screen and login screen. Be sure to provide both light and dark mode variants for your logos. You can also set your primary brand colors using HEX codes and select brand fonts.

3. Customize the User Interface

This step involves configuring the app's layout and features.

  • Login Screen: Customize the logo, brand colors, and an optional tagline displayed on the login screen.
  • Core Navigation: Choose between a Bottom Navigation bar (ideal for 4-5 main items) or a Left Drawer navigation (better for a larger number of items). Add and reorder the modules you want to feature, such as Notifications, Conversations, or Calendar. If you exceed the limit for the core navigation, additional modules can be placed in the App Drawer.
  • App Drawer: Organize any remaining modules into categories and reorder them as needed. Note: To enable payment features like Tap to Pay, you must include the POS module (and/or Invoices/Estimates) in either the Core Navigation or the App Drawer.

4. Prepare Your Store Listing

Under the Distribution → Profile section, fill out the information that will appear in the app stores. This includes the app title, short and long descriptions, a support email address or URL, and the required links to your Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

5. Connect to App Stores

In the Distribution → Channels section, you will connect your CRM app project to your accounts in App Store Connect and the Google Play Console. This step is necessary to submit your app for review and publication.
