Accepting Contactless Payments with Tap to Pay

Tap to Pay transforms your mobile device into a secure point-of-sale terminal, allowing you to accept contactless payments from customers quickly and easily.

Effortless Processing: Accept payments by simply having your customer tap their card or phone against your device. The process eliminates the need for swiping, PINs, or signatures.

Broad Compatibility: Tap to Pay works with a wide range of contactless payment methods, including contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

How to Use Tap to Pay

Before you begin, ensure your Stripe account is connected to your CRM on the web application. You can do this by navigating to Payments > Integrations > Connect with Stripe. Also, verify that the location set in your mobile app is correct, as this feature is currently limited to specific regions.

To process a payment:

Open the mobile app and select Point of Sale.
Enter the transaction amount. You can add a note describing the sale by clicking +Note.
Tap Charge [Amount].
The app will load and connect to the payment reader. You will have the option to add a tip. You can select a predefined amount or enter a custom tip by clicking Custom, or choose No tip.
Instruct your customer to hold their contactless card or smartphone near the top of your device to complete the payment.
Once the payment is approved, the screen will display a success message along with your business name and a transaction ID.

Supported Devices

Tap to Pay requires a compatible mobile device:

Android: Devices with NFC capability running Android 8 or later.
iPhone: iPhone XS or later models running iOS 16 or later. Please note that Tap to Pay is not supported on beta versions of iOS. For the best experience, ensure your device's operating system is up to date.

Joining the Beta Program

Tap to Pay is currently available for general use in the US. For users in other countries, the feature is available through a beta program. To join the beta, please use the appropriate link for your device and app.
