How to Set Up Recurring Products in Documents and Contracts
Adding Recurring Products to a Document
You can now include products with recurring billing directly in the product list when building documents and contracts. This feature allows you to seamlessly integrate subscription services or ongoing charges into your agreements.
Adding Products to the List
Within the Document Builder, add a product list block to your document. You can add both one-time and recurring products to this list. If a product has an associated setup fee, this fee will appear as a separate line item in the list.
Configuring the Recurring Schedule
When you add a recurring product, you must configure its billing schedule from the product list properties. You can set the invoice sending date to be the same as the date the document is completed, or you can specify a custom start date. This scheduling capability is also available when using document templates.
Invoice Behavior After Document Completion
Once the document is signed and completed, an invoice will be automatically sent to the contact. The type of invoice generated depends on the products in the list:
- If the product list contains at least one recurring product, a recurring invoice will be sent.
- If the product list contains only one-time products, a standard one-time invoice will be sent.
If you include both a one-time product and a recurring product in the same list, the one-time product will only be charged on the first invoice.
