Purchasing a Twilio Number in Your Connected Account for Use in CRM
If you have connected your own Twilio account to your CRM platform, any phone numbers you buy directly through the Twilio console can be automatically synced to your CRM location. This article explains how to purchase a number from Twilio and have it appear in your CRM.
Steps to Purchase a Twilio Number
Step 1: Log in to Twilio
Visit the Twilio login page and sign in to your account. On the main dashboard, click on your Main Account name at the top and select the appropriate Sub-account.
Note: If you have multiple sub-accounts and are unsure which one is linked to your CRM location, you can find the correct Account SID within your CRM. Navigate to the Agency view, then go to Settings > Phone Integration > Sub-account Settings. Copy the Account SID for the specific location you are managing.
Step 2: Locate the Sub-account in Twilio
Return to the Twilio dashboard. Use the account switcher to search for the correct sub-account by pasting the Account SID you copied from your CRM. Select the matching sub-account to proceed.
Step 3: Navigate to Purchase a Number
In the Twilio console's left sidebar, navigate to Develop > Phone Numbers > Manage > Buy a Number.
Step 4: Choose the Country
Use the country dropdown menu, typically located in the top-left corner, to select your desired country. Twilio will then display a list of available local numbers with voice capabilities.
Step 5: Use Advanced Search to Find Mobile Numbers
Click on the Advanced Search option. Uncheck the Local number filter and perform the search again. This will refresh the list to show available mobile numbers with capabilities like voice and SMS.
Step 6: Finalize and Verify in CRM
After completing the purchase in Twilio, go to your CRM location. Navigate to Settings > Phone Numbers. The newly purchased number should now be visible in the list, automatically synced from your Twilio account.
