Managing Your SEO Site Projects: How to Delete a Project

What Happens When You Delete an SEO Site Project?

Deleting an SEO Site Project is a permanent action that removes all associated audit data from your CRM. The system will also automatically revert any automated SEO fixes that were applied through that specific project. Once deleted, the project slot is immediately freed up in your quota, allowing you to add a new site for auditing.

Important: This action cannot be undone. Once you confirm deletion, the project and its data cannot be restored.

Why You Might Delete a Site Project

There are several practical reasons to remove a project:

  • Free Up Your Quota: If you have reached the maximum number of active site projects, deleting one instantly creates an available slot.
  • Manage Priorities: Easily rotate out older or completed client sites to make room for new, higher-priority domains.
  • Maintain a Clean Workspace: Keep your SEO dashboard focused on current, active projects by removing outdated ones.
  • Automatic Cleanup: The system handles the reversal of any automated fixes applied by the project, preventing unwanted changes from remaining on your live assets.

Steps to Delete an SEO Site Project

Follow this process to safely and permanently remove a project.

1. Navigate to the SEO Dashboard

From the main CRM navigation, go to Sites and then select SEO.

2. Locate the Project

In the list of Site Projects, find the specific project you wish to delete.

3. Initiate Deletion

Click the three-dot menu icon (⋯) next to the project's name. From the menu that appears, select Delete Project.

4. Confirm the Action

A confirmation window will appear. It will summarize the impacts: your quota will be restored, automated fixes will be reverted, and the action is permanent. Read this carefully. To proceed, click the Delete Project button.

Understanding the Rollback of SEO Fixes

When a project is deleted, the CRM automatically reverses only the specific SEO fixes that were applied through that project's automated system. This typically includes:

  • Fixes applied to funnel page paths.
  • Fixes applied to blog post paths.
  • Other external fixes triggered by the project's audit.

What is not affected: Manual edits you made to pages, meta tags, or other elements outside of the project's automated fixes will generally remain in place. After deletion, it's a good practice to check critical SEO elements like redirects or sitemap status if they are still needed for the site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a deleted Site Project be recovered?

No. Deletion is final and cannot be reversed by users or by support.

Will my manual changes to meta titles and descriptions be lost?

No. Only fixes applied automatically by the Site Project system are reverted. Your independent manual edits are preserved.

Who has permission to delete a Site Project?

Users with the appropriate administrative or site/SEO management permissions within the CRM can delete projects.

Can I re-add the same domain later?

Yes. Once the project is deleted and your quota slot is free, you can add the domain again as a brand new Site Project and run a fresh audit.

How does deletion affect my live websites or blogs?

It only removes the automated fixes linked to that project. All other website content, pages, and manual configurations remain unchanged.

Where can I check my current project quota?

You can view your quota usage by going to SEO > Settings > Quota Usage.
