Connect an Instagram Account to Social Planner
Overview
You can connect your Instagram account to your CRM's Social Planner in two ways. The newer, recommended method is called Direct Instagram Integration, which allows you to schedule posts, stories, and reels without needing to connect a Facebook Page. The classic method connects your Instagram account through a linked Facebook Page.
Before You Begin
To use either connection method, your Instagram profile must be either a Business profile or a Creator profile. Personal accounts cannot be connected.
For the classic Facebook-linked method, you must also have an Admin or Editor role on the Facebook Page you plan to use for the connection.
Method 1: Direct Instagram Integration (Recommended)
This method connects your Instagram account directly to Social Planner without requiring a Facebook Page connection. It is ideal for quick setup and supports auto-posting stories from both Business and Creator accounts.
- Navigate to Marketing > Social Planner.
- Click the Settings gear icon located next to the New Post button.
- Select Add Socials.
- Choose Instagram.
- Select the option for Direct Instagram Integration.
- In the pop-up window, confirm your choice by selecting Direct Instagram Integration again.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to log into Instagram and grant the necessary permissions to your CRM.
- Select the specific Instagram Business or Creator account you wish to connect.
Method 2: Classic Facebook-Linked Integration
Use this method only if you require features that depend on Facebook permissions, such as viewing video and image view counts in your analytics. This method involves linking your Instagram account to a Facebook Page first.
Link Instagram to Your Facebook Page
- Log into Facebook and navigate to the Facebook Page you will use for the connection.
- Click your Page's profile picture at the top right of Facebook.
- Click Settings & privacy, then select Settings.
- Under the Permissions section, click Linked accounts.
- Next to Instagram, click View.
- Click Connect account and follow the steps to link your Instagram Business profile to this Facebook Page.
Connect to Social Planner
- In your CRM, go to Marketing > Social Planner.
- Click the Settings gear icon next to New Post.
- Select Add Socials.
- Choose Instagram.
- Select the option for Instagram with Facebook.
- Follow the prompts to connect the Facebook Page that is now linked to your Instagram account.
