Setting Up Recurring Social Media Posts
About Recurring Posts
The recurring posts feature in your CRM's Social Planner helps you maintain a consistent social media presence by automatically republishing evergreen content on a set schedule. You can configure posts to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, and tailor the content and timing to match your audience's engagement patterns.
Benefits of Using Recurring Posts
- Save time: Automate your content calendar and reduce manual posting.
- Maintain consistency: Keep your brand top-of-mind with regular updates.
- Leverage evergreen content: Reshare valuable posts that remain relevant over time.
- Flexible scheduling: Choose specific days, dates, and times for your repetitions.
How to Create a Recurring Post
Step 1: Access the Social Planner
Navigate to Marketing > Social Planner in your CRM's main menu.
Step 2: Create a New Post
Click the New Post button and select Create New Post from the dropdown.
Step 3: Select Social Accounts
Choose one or more social media accounts where you want the post to appear. If you haven't connected any accounts yet, you can set up the recurrence first and connect accounts before saving.
Step 4: Compose Your Post
Write your post content, add images or media from your library, and use AI tools if available to enhance your message.
Step 5: Set Up Recurrence
Below the post composer, locate the scheduling options and select Recurring. Choose your preferred recurrence pattern:
- Daily: Set a specific time for the post to repeat every day.
- Weekly: Pick a day of the week and time for the post to repeat each week.
- Monthly: Choose a date and time for the post to repeat on that date every month.
- Yearly: Select a specific date and time for the post to repeat annually.
Step 6: Set the Date Range
Specify a start date and, if desired, an end date for the recurrence. If no end date is set, the posts will continue until you manually stop them.
Step 7: Save and Schedule
Review your settings and click Schedule to activate the recurring post series. The initial post becomes the "parent" post, and all future instances are "child" posts linked to it.
Managing Recurring Posts
Editing Posts
You can edit the parent post at any time to update all future child posts. Changes to the parent post will apply to all scheduled recurrences. Alternatively, you can edit individual child posts without affecting the parent or other recurrences.
Viewing Recurring Posts
All parent posts for recurring series are listed in the Recurring Posts tab within Social Planner. From here, you can edit the recurrence schedule or stop the series entirely.
Stopping Recurrence
To end a recurring post series, navigate to the Recurring Posts tab, find the parent post, and use the option to stop recurrence. This will cancel all future scheduled instances.
Best Practices and Considerations
- Avoid repetition penalties: Some platforms, like Twitter, may flag identical content posted too frequently. Vary your messaging or visuals slightly if needed.
- Use for evergreen content: Recurring posts work best for content that doesn't become outdated quickly, such as tips, quotes, or promotional offers.
- Monitor engagement: Keep an eye on how your recurring posts perform and adjust the content or schedule based on audience response.
- Combine with other content: Mix recurring posts with one-time updates to keep your feed balanced and engaging.
