Setting Up an E-Commerce Store
Getting Started with Your Online Store
An online store within your CRM allows you to sell products or services directly through your website. This guide will walk you through the initial setup process to get your store up and running.
Using the Store Setup Wizard
The CRM provides a Store Setup Wizard to help you configure the essential components of your e-commerce store efficiently. To begin:
- Navigate to Sites > Stores from the main menu.
- If a welcome modal appears, click the Start Onboarding button.
- Follow the steps presented in the wizard.
- Use the provided buttons and linked help documentation to complete each task.
- Once all steps are finished, use the Setup Completed button to finalize the process.
You can complete the steps in any order. You can skip a step and return to it at a later time.
Wizard Completion Details
- The initial welcome modal only appears for new users or users who haven't completed store setup and will not appear again after setup is finished.
- The Setup Shipping step is only marked as complete after you have configured at least one shipping rate.
- Once a step is marked complete, it remains checked in the wizard even if you later change the related settings.
- The Setup Completed button will be visible for 3 days after all steps are done and will then disappear automatically.
Step 1: Create and Configure Products
Your store's products are managed under Payments > Products. Here you can:
- Set the product name and description.
- Upload product images and videos.
- Define the product's price.
- Configure product variants, such as size or color.
When creating a product, use the toggle at the top of the creation form to control whether the product is visible in your online store.
Enhanced Product Presentation
You have several tools to showcase your products effectively:
- Rich Text Descriptions: Use a text editor to format your product descriptions with options for bold, italics, lists, and tables. This description will automatically appear on the product details page.
- Multiple Media Files: Attach several images and videos to a single product to give customers a comprehensive view.
- Product Variants: Create different options for a product, like size or material, each with its own price.
Step 2: Activate and Edit Your Store on a Website
You can add an online store to a new website or an existing one. The store is created automatically when you add a store-related element to a page in the Website Builder if a store doesn't already exist for that website.
To create a store from the Website Builder:
- Open the Website Builder for your site.
- Click Add element.
- Drag a Store element (like Cart, Collections List, or Featured Products) onto a page. Alternatively, you can drag a pre-built Store section onto the page.
- A modal will appear with two choices:
- Add Store: Creates the store and applies the current page's design theme to the new store pages.
- Skip: Creates the store without importing the current page's theme settings.
- The CRM will then create the store and add the necessary store pages. You can continue to customize these pages and elements.
Note: Only the first Store element or section you add will trigger the store creation process. Subsequent store elements added after the store exists will be added as regular page components. If you manually delete any of the store's pages, the CRM will delete all pages associated with that store.
When you add an online store to a website, five pages are created by default to form the foundation of your shopping experience.
Deleting a Store
If you need to remove a store, this action only deletes the pages specifically associated with that store, such as the product list, product details, cart, and checkout pages. Your main website pages (like Home or About) are not affected.
You can delete a store from two locations:
- The main Stores list
- The Store Settings page
To delete a store:
- Go to Sites > Stores.
- Open the three-dot menu next to the store's name, or open the Store Settings.
- Select Delete Store.
- In the confirmation dialog, type DELETE.
- Click Delete.
Important: To remove an entire website, including all its pages, you must use the Delete Website option from the website settings.
