Troubleshooting Facebook Ad Reporting

Resolving Common Facebook Ad Reporting Issues

To ensure your Facebook ad campaigns are properly tracked within the CRM, it's important to verify that your setup is configured correctly. The following steps outline the most common issues and how to resolve them.

1. Verify Your Facebook Ad Account Integration is Active

Navigate to your sub-account settings and then to the integrations section. Confirm that the integration with your Facebook Ad Account is active and that the connected account has administrator-level permissions. If you do not see your Facebook Page listed in the CRM's integration section, ensure you have the correct administrative access on the Facebook side.

2. Place the UTM Tracking Template in the Correct Location

When setting up your ad tracking, the UTM parameters must be added in the Tracking section of your Facebook ad, not in the Destination URL field. Placing them in the wrong location will prevent the CRM from accurately attributing leads and sales to your campaigns.

3. Use Unique Names for Campaigns, Ad Sets, and Ads

To prevent duplicate contact entries in your reports, you must assign unique names to each Facebook ad campaign, ad set, and individual ad. If you use the same name for different ads or ad sets, the CRM may combine data incorrectly, making it difficult to assess the performance of each specific element.

4. Understand That Renaming Ads Does Not Update UTM Parameters

If you change the name of an existing campaign, ad set, or ad after it has started running, the UTM parameters associated with it will not update. The CRM will continue to attribute data based on the original names used in the UTM tags. To track performance accurately with a new name, you must create a new campaign, ad set, or ad instead of simply renaming the existing one.

5. Select the Correct Facebook Page for Lead Form Mapping

When connecting Facebook Lead Forms to your CRM, you must select the appropriate Facebook Page from the list of available options. The integration must be active to collect leads from these forms. Please note that while standard text and custom fields can be mapped, certain field types like radio buttons and timezone fields cannot be mapped from Facebook Lead Forms.
