Adding Privacy Policy Links to Data Collection Points
About Privacy Policies in Your CRM
A privacy policy is a document that explains how your business collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information from your contacts, such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers. Including a link to your privacy policy where you collect data is a critical step for transparency and is often required by various data protection regulations and carrier guidelines. This article explains how to add these links throughout your CRM.

Where to Add Your Privacy Policy Link
Your CRM provides specific fields to add a link to your privacy policy in most features where personal data is collected. Below are the common locations and methods.
Websites and Funnels
When building a page in the site or funnel builder, you can add a text link.
- Drag a Text element onto your page.
- Type your consent text (e.g., "By submitting this form, you agree to our Privacy Policy").
- Highlight the words "Privacy Policy," click the link icon in the editor toolbar, and paste your policy's URL.
Forms
You can add a privacy policy link directly within a form builder.
- Inside the form editor, drag a Text element into your form layout.
- Type your message, highlight the relevant text, use the link button, and insert your URL.
- Alternatively, use the dedicated Terms & Conditions element. Drag it onto the form, edit it, and paste your privacy policy URL into the provided link field.
Surveys
The process for surveys is similar to forms.
- In the survey builder, add a Text element.
- Type your text, highlight "Privacy Policy," create a link, and enter the URL.
Calendars
For calendar booking pages, you have two primary options:
- Add a text link on the webpage where the calendar is embedded.
- Use a custom booking form that includes a Terms & Conditions element with your privacy policy link.
Order Forms
For taking payments, you can add policy links to your order forms.
- Add a text link directly on the order page.
- In the order form's Advanced Settings, enable the Terms and Conditions option. You can then customize the consent text and include your privacy policy link there.
Web Chat Widget
For the chat widget that appears on your site:
- In the widget settings, locate the field for the widget description or introductory text.
- You can include a link to your privacy policy within this text using standard HTML link syntax (
Privacy Policy).
E-Commerce Store Checkout
You can add mandatory consent checkboxes with policy links to your store's checkout page.
- Navigate to Sites and then Stores.
- Open your store and edit the Checkout page.
- Select the main Checkout element on the page.
- In the settings panel on the right, find the Terms and Conditions section.
- Toggle on Enable Terms and Conditions.
- Customize the consent text that appears next to the checkbox and embed your privacy policy link within it.
Creating a Privacy Policy Page
Before you can link to it, you need a page that hosts your privacy policy content. You can create this page within your CRM or host it on an external site.
To create it within the CRM:
- Go to Sites and select either Funnels or Websites.
- Create a new funnel/website or open an existing one.
- Add a new page to it and title it clearly, such as "Privacy Policy."
- Paste or write the full text of your privacy policy into the page builder.
- Publish the page and copy its public URL to use for all your links.
If you need help drafting the content of your policy, you can search online for templates, but remember to have your final document reviewed by your legal advisor to ensure it meets all applicable requirements for your business.
