How to Track Pageviews with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for Your Funnels and Websites
Connecting Your CRM Funnels and Websites to Google Analytics 4
This guide explains how to set up Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to track pageviews for funnels and websites built with your CRM. By following these steps, you will be able to collect valuable data on how visitors interact with your pages.
Before You Begin
This process requires a Google Analytics account. If you are new to GA4, we recommend familiarizing yourself with its basics before proceeding.
Step 1: Create a GA4 Property
To start tracking, you first need to create a new property in your Google Analytics account.
- Log in to your Google Analytics account.
- Navigate to the Admin settings.
- Click the option to create a new property.
- Enter a name for your property and complete the setup steps.
Step 2: Set Up a Web Data Stream
After creating the property, you must add a data stream to specify which website or funnel you want to track.
- In the Admin section, find and select the Data Streams option.
- Choose the Web platform.
- Enter the URL of your funnel or website and give the stream a name.
- Click the button to create the stream.
Step 3: Add the Tracking Code to Your Funnel or Website
Google Analytics will provide a unique tracking code snippet (gtag.js) for your data stream. You must install this code on your site for tracking to work.
Copy the provided script and paste it into the header section of your funnel or website pages within the CRM. Alternatively, you can use Google Tag Manager to manage the installation if you prefer.
Once the code is successfully added, Google Analytics will begin recording pageviews and other interaction data from your site.
