Automate Badge Issuance Using Workflows

Overview

Badges provide a simple and visual method to acknowledge achievements, progress, and engagement within your CRM. Although a dedicated badge-issuing feature is in development, you can start automating badge distribution immediately using the existing Issue Certificate action in workflows. Badges and certificates are both managed through this same action.

How It Works

You can use any supported workflow trigger along with the Issue Certificate action to automatically send badges to your contacts. When configuring the action, simply choose a badge template instead of a certificate template.

Common Triggers and Use Cases

Here are some frequently used triggers and examples of badge use cases:

  • Lesson Completed: Award a "Lesson 1 Complete" badge.
  • Category Completed: Grant a "Module Master" badge.
  • Product Completed: Issue a "Certified Pro" badge.
  • Quiz Submitted: Recognize with a "Quiz Ace" badge.
  • Survey Submitted: Award a "Top Responder" badge.
  • Form Submitted: Give a "Quick Action Taker" badge.
  • Task Completed: Unlock a "Milestone Unlocked" badge.

These triggers are available in the workflow trigger menu under sections like Courses, Contact, and Form Activities.

Setting Up Automated Badge Issuance

Follow these steps to create a workflow that issues badges automatically:

  1. Navigate to Automation > Workflows.
  2. Create a new workflow from scratch or edit an existing one.
  3. Add a trigger from the available options.
  4. Add an action and select Issue Certificate.
  5. In the action settings, choose a badge template instead of a certificate template.
  6. Save and publish your workflow.

Note: Badges are visual, lightweight, and ideal for micro-recognition. They are delivered to contacts as downloadable images.

Future Enhancements

A dedicated Issue Badge action is coming soon to simplify this process further. Until then, the Issue Certificate action seamlessly supports both badges and certificates.
