Using the Funnel/Website Page View Trigger in Workflows
Overview
The Funnel/Website Page View trigger allows you to start an automated workflow whenever a contact visits a specific page on one of your funnels or websites. This is a powerful way to react to a contact's browsing behavior, enabling you to send targeted communications, apply tags, or initiate other actions based on the exact content they are viewing.
Trigger Details
This trigger is activated the moment a contact loads a page that matches the criteria you define. You can monitor a single page or use filters to create more complex conditions.
Configuration Fields
When setting up the trigger, you will configure the following fields:
- Funnel/Website (Mandatory): Select the specific funnel or website you want to monitor for page views.
- Page: Define the specific page within the funnel or website to track. This field is optional; if left blank, the trigger will activate for any page view on the selected site.
- UTM Parameters (Campaign, Source, Medium, Content): Use these optional fields to only trigger the workflow when the page view is associated with a specific UTM tracking parameter.
- Page Path: Optionally specify a particular path for more refined tracking.
Operators
For fields like Page and UTM parameters, you can use operators to define the matching condition:
- Is: The value must be an exact match.
- Is any of: The value can match any one of the options you list.
- Is none of: The value must not match any of the listed options.
- Is empty: The field must be empty.
- Is not empty: The field must contain a value.
How to Set Up the Trigger
Follow these steps to add a Funnel/Website Page View trigger to your workflow.
- Select the Trigger: In the workflow builder, choose "Funnel/Website PageView" from the list of available triggers.
- Name the Trigger: Give your trigger a clear, descriptive name, such as "Viewed Pricing Page."
- Configure Filters:
- Select the target Funnel/Website from the dropdown menu.
- If needed, specify the Page name.
- Set any desired UTM Parameters to narrow the trigger conditions.
- Add More Filters: You can add multiple sets of conditions by clicking the Add filters button to create a more specific trigger.
Example Use Case
Scenario: You want to automatically send a reminder email to contacts who view your checkout page but do not complete their purchase.
Setup:
- Trigger: Funnel/Website PageView
- Funnel/Website: Your E-commerce Funnel
- Page: Is equal to "Checkout"
Action: Add a "Delay" step followed by a "Send Email" action. The delay allows time for the contact to complete the purchase. If they don't, the email is sent, offering assistance or an incentive to complete the order. This helps recover potentially lost sales.
