The Opportunity Created trigger allows you to automatically start a workflow whenever a new opportunity is added to your CRM. This is useful for initiating follow-up tasks, sending notifications, or updating records as soon as an opportunity enters your sales pipeline.
Trigger Details
This trigger activates when any new opportunity is created. You can apply filters to narrow down which opportunities start the workflow based on specific criteria.
Available filter fields include:
- Assigned To: Filter by the user assigned to the opportunity.
- Has Tag: Filter opportunities that have specific tags.
- In Pipeline: Select which pipeline to monitor for new opportunities.
- Lead Value: Set conditions based on the monetary value of the opportunity.
- Lost Reason: Filter by the reason provided if the opportunity was marked as lost.
- Status: Filter by the current status of the opportunity, such as New or Open.
Each filter supports operators like:
- Equals to
- Greater than
- Less than
- Contains
- Is Empty
- Is Not Empty
How to Configure
To set up this trigger:
- In the workflow builder, select Opportunity Created as your trigger.
- Assign a descriptive name to the trigger for easy reference.
- Apply any desired filters to specify which opportunities should activate the workflow. You can add multiple filters by clicking Add filters and selecting the fields and conditions.
- For tag-based filters, you can use operators such as Equals to, Not equals to, Any of, or None of, and add multiple tag conditions for complex rules.
Example Use Case
Imagine you want to alert your sales manager whenever a high-value opportunity is created. You could:
- Set the trigger to Opportunity Created.
- Add a filter for Lead Value greater than $10,000.
- Add an action to notify the sales manager.
This ensures that major opportunities are immediately brought to the attention of the right person, helping your team respond quickly and effectively.
