Global Settings for Rentals
Overview of Global Settings
The Global Settings page for Rentals provides a centralized location to manage core configurations for your rental business. By setting global defaults, you ensure consistency across all listings and bookings while retaining the flexibility to override settings for specific listings when needed. This area allows you to define business hours, notification preferences, booking page appearance, and payment methods that apply universally.
Key Benefits
Using Global Settings offers several advantages:
- Consistency: All new listings and bookings adhere to the same rules, ensuring predictable operations.
- Operational Control: Define business hours and scheduling behavior to control when and how customers can make bookings.
- Brand Trust: Customize the booking page with your branding to deliver a cohesive and professional customer experience.
- Clear Payments: Standardize currency, payment requirements, and deposit handling to streamline checkout and invoicing.
- Flexibility with Safety: Admins can override certain constraints during booking creation while maintaining enforcement of buffers and inventory rules.
How to Access Global Settings
To reach the Global Settings page, go to Calendars → Calendar Settings → Rentals → Global Settings. You will see four main tabs on the left side, each dedicated to a specific aspect of your rental operations.
Booking Settings
The Booking Settings tab allows you to configure your business operating hours, scheduling preferences, and general booking behaviors. Note that admins can override these global restrictions when creating bookings directly in the app.
Business Operating Hours
Specify the days and times your business is open for bookings. Use the + button to add multiple time intervals within a single day. Uncheck any day to deactivate it. Bookings must start and end within these hours, though the total rental period may extend beyond closing time.
Date-Specific Hours
Add custom operating hours for specific dates, such as holidays or special events. Click + Add Date Specific Hours to define unique availability. These settings override the standard business hours for the selected dates.
Date Grouping
Consecutive dates are grouped into ranges for a cleaner list, while non-consecutive dates appear separately. Each range can be edited or deleted individually.
Additional Configuration
- Timezone: Set the timezone for your business; this displays on the booking page and applies to all bookings.
- Slot Interval: Define the time increments (e.g., 15, 30, or 60 minutes) shown for available slots on the booking page.
- Auto-confirm Bookings: Enable to automatically confirm new bookings; disable to leave them unconfirmed by default.
- Enable Multi-item Cart: Allow customers to book multiple listings in a single checkout.
- Away Mode: Temporarily disable all new online bookings.
- Default Rental Times: Set default start and end times for rentals when the time selector is disabled. These override business operating hours, but selected business days still apply.
Notifications
The Notifications tab lets you manage alerts sent to customers and staff based on booking events. Each notification can be configured to send via Email, In-App, SMS, or WhatsApp. Click the edit (pencil) icon next to any notification type to customize its template.
Available notifications include:
- Appointment Booked (Unconfirmed)
- Appointment Booked (Confirmed)

Note: These notifications trigger for booking-level events, not updates to individual listings.
