Configuring Pay-Per-Lead Commissions for Affiliates
About Pay-Per-Lead Commissions
You can configure your affiliate marketing program to pay commissions based on leads generated, not just completed sales. This pay-per-lead (PPL) model is useful when your primary goal is to collect qualified contacts through forms, surveys, or scheduled appointments. Affiliates earn a set amount for each valid submission they generate.
Creating a Pay-Per-Lead Campaign
Step 1: Create a New Campaign
Go to the Marketing section of your CRM and open the Affiliate Manager. Navigate to the Campaign Page and click the + Add button to start a new campaign.
Step 2: Choose a Source Type
Select the type of activity that will generate the lead. For pay-per-lead tracking, you must choose Forms, Surveys, or Calendars.
Step 3: Enable Pay-Per-Lead Commissions
Go to the Commissions tab within the campaign setup. Find and toggle on the Pay-Per-Lead option to activate this commission structure.
Step 4: Set the Commission Amount
Define how much an affiliate earns for each lead. Enter this value in the Per Lead Commission field.
Step 5: Configure Advanced Settings (Optional)
If you use a multi-tier affiliate structure, you can set different commission rates for various levels (e.g., for the referring affiliate and their sub-affiliates) in the advanced commission settings.
Step 6: Describe the Campaign and Assign Affiliates
Add a clear description of the campaign goals for your affiliates. Then, select which affiliates from your network should participate in this specific campaign.
Step 7: Review and Publish
Carefully check all your settings. When you are satisfied, click Publish to launch the campaign and make it available to your assigned affiliates.
Tracking Leads and Commissions
After the campaign is live, you can monitor its performance:
- Viewing Leads: Track the leads generated by each affiliate directly from their profile page in the Affiliate Manager.
- Viewing Commissions: In the Commissions tab, look for entries labeled Lead Commission in the Product column. This shows the commission earned from a lead.
Important Note on Tracking
For the system to accurately track leads and attribute them to an affiliate, the form, survey, or calendar must be added as a native component within a CRM funnel or webpage. Embedding these elements using custom code or iframes is not supported for affiliate lead tracking.
