Creating and Managing Facebook Lead Forms
Creating a New Facebook Lead Form
When setting up an ad campaign within the Ad Manager with the objective of generating leads, you have the option to create a new Facebook lead form or select an existing one. Follow these steps to create a new form.
Step 1: Initiate Form Creation
From the campaign setup, locate the dropdown menu to create a new form or select an existing one. Click on the option to 'Create Facebook Form'.
Step 2: Name and Type
Provide a name for your new form. Next, select the form type. You will have two options:
- More Volume: Designed to maximize the number of submissions.
- Higher Intent: Adds a review step for people to confirm their information before submission, which can lead to higher-quality leads.
Step 3: Create a Greeting
This section allows you to explain to users why they should complete your form. You must add a headline. You can also add a paragraph or a list for additional context.
Step 4: Define Questions
This is where you specify the information you want to collect. You can select from standard information types or create custom questions. For custom questions, you can create short-answer fields or multiple-choice questions that are relevant to your campaign.
Step 5: Map Form Fields
This crucial step allows you to map the fields from your Facebook form to corresponding contact fields in your CRM. When a form is submitted, the answers will be automatically populated in the correct fields of the new contact record.
Step 6: Privacy Policy
You are required to link to your business's privacy policy. If you do not have one, you can use a provided template.
Step 7: Completion Message
After a user submits the form, you can display a custom thank-you message. You can add a headline, a description, and a call to action, such as directing them to a website or prompting a phone call.
Once you have completed these steps, save the form. It will then be available for selection when creating your Lead Generation ad.
Using Custom Fields
When creating a lead form, Meta provides the option to add tracking parameters. To ensure this data is captured in your CRM, you must map these parameters to CRM fields during the form creation process. If the necessary field does not exist in your CRM, you can create a custom contact field. Once created, this custom field will appear as an available option in the form field mapping section.
Reviewing, Mapping, and Duplicating Existing Forms
The Ad Manager provides tools to manage your existing Facebook lead forms directly from the campaign setup interface.
Accessing Form Details
When you have selected a lead form for your campaign, click the pencil or edit icon next to the form's name. This will open a window where you can:
- Preview the form's content.
- Map or update the connection between the form fields and your CRM fields to ensure accurate lead syncing.
Duplicating a Form
From the same editing window, you will find a 'Duplicate Form' button. Clicking this will create a copy of the form with all fields pre-filled. You can then edit this new version as needed and save it as a separate form.
Field Mapping Prompt
To help prevent data loss, if you select a form that has not yet been mapped to your CRM fields, a message will appear below the form selector prompting you to map the fields. Clicking the prompt will open the review window so you can complete the mapping process.
