Manage App Permissions in the Client Portal

Introduction to App Permissions

App Permissions allow you to control which features and login methods are available to your contacts in the Client Portal. By managing these settings at the sub-account level, you can customize the portal experience to align with your business goals and compliance needs.

Types of Permissions

There are two main categories of permissions you can configure:

Child Apps

Child apps are the functional modules within the Client Portal, such as Courses, Communities, and Affiliates. Enabling or disabling these controls whether contacts can see and use these features after logging in.

Authentication Options

Authentication permissions determine how contacts log into the portal. Options include Google Sign-In, email and password, secure code login, and magic links. These settings affect the login page itself.

Accessing App Permissions

To modify App Permissions:

  1. Switch to the desired sub-account from the Agency View.
  2. In the left sidebar, navigate to the section where Client Portal is listed, click Client Portal, then open Settings.
  3. Click the App Permissions tab or menu item to view available options.

Enabling or Disabling Child Apps

To control visibility of child apps:

  1. In the App Permissions list, locate the toggle for the specific child app (e.g., Courses).
  2. Toggle it ON to make the app visible and accessible, or OFF to hide it.
  3. Click Save to apply changes. Disabling an app does not delete its data; it can be re-enabled later.

Managing Google Sign-In

To enable or disable Google Sign-In:

  1. Find the Google Sign-In toggle in the App Permissions list.
  2. Toggle it ON to display the "Sign in with Google" button on login pages, or OFF to hide it.
  3. Save your changes and verify by checking the portal in a private browser window.

Best Practices

Regularly review your App Permissions to ensure they match current business needs and compliance standards. For multiple sub-accounts, keep navigation paths documented for efficient management.
