Manage Snapshot Email Notifications
About Snapshot Email Notifications
This feature gives Agency Administrators precise control over who receives email notifications after a snapshot deployment is completed. You can configure whether the user who initiated the push receives an email, and you can add up to five other Agency Admins as notification recipients. This ensures that the right people are automatically informed about the outcome of each snapshot push, eliminating the need for manual status checks.
Important Notes
- Only users with the Agency Admin role can change these notification settings.
- Settings are configured per snapshot, allowing for different notification rules for different snapshots.
- Notifications are sent only when a push finishes, not when it starts or if it fails partway through.
Benefits of Configuring Notifications
Setting up snapshot notifications offers several advantages for managing your agency's workflow:
- Timely Updates: Key team members are immediately informed when a snapshot push completes.
- Operational Efficiency: Automates status reporting, saving time spent manually checking push histories.
- Quick Issue Resolution: Notification emails include a direct link to the detailed push history, allowing for rapid review of any failures.
How to Configure Snapshot Notification Preferences
Step 1: Access the Snapshot Menu
From your agency dashboard, go to the Snapshots section and select My Snapshots. Locate the specific snapshot you want to configure and click the menu icon (typically three dots) next to its name.
Step 2: Edit Notification Settings
From the snapshot's menu, select the option to edit the snapshot settings. This will open a configuration panel. Navigate to the Notification Preference tab within this panel.
Here you can configure the following:
- Initiator Notification: Toggle whether the user who starts the snapshot push receives a completion email.
- Additional Admins: Add up to five other Agency Admins as email recipients for notifications about this snapshot.
Once you save your changes, the new notification rules will apply to all future pushes of that snapshot.
Understanding the Notification Email
The email sent to recipients contains a clear summary of the push results:
- The total number of sub-accounts where the snapshot was successfully applied.
- The total number of sub-accounts where the snapshot failed to apply.
- A direct link to view the complete push history report for full details.
