Reselling Marketplace Apps with Usage-Based Pricing

Agency administrators can now create an additional revenue stream by reselling Marketplace applications that use usage-based billing. This feature lets you apply a custom markup to the base usage fees charged by app developers, allowing you to profit while providing valuable services to your client sub-accounts.

Benefits of Reselling Usage-Based Apps

  • New Revenue Source: Add a profit margin to the usage fees of third-party apps you provide to clients.
  • Centralized Management: Configure and manage reselling options from a dedicated agency interface.
  • Clear Pricing Visibility: Easily filter and view which apps support usage-based pricing for reselling.
  • Controlled Access: Only agency-level administrators can view and adjust reselling configurations and markups.
  • Expanded Offerings: Enhance your service package by bundling valuable third-party tools with your CRM platform.

How to Configure Reselling for a Usage-Based App

Note: Only users with agency administrator permissions can access and configure reselling markups. Sub-account users will be billed based on the final price you set.

Step 1: Access the App Reselling Interface

From your agency account dashboard, navigate to the main menu and select App Marketplace. Within the Marketplace, click on the App Reselling tab.

Step 2: Find Usage-Based Apps

Click on the Pricing tab within the App Reselling section. Use the pricing filter dropdown and select Usage-Based. You can also search for specific apps by name.

Step 3: Set Your Markup and Pricing

Locate the app you wish to resell and click the Set Usage-Based Pricing button for that app. A configuration window will open showing the developer's base pricing for different services or actions. For each item, enter your desired additional profit amount in the Your Profit field. The system will automatically calculate and display the final price your clients will see. Once you have configured all pricing, click Save.

Step 4: Install the App for Client Sub-Accounts (Agency Method)

After configuring pricing, click on the app's name to open its installation window. Click the Install button. You will be prompted to select one or more sub-accounts where the app should be installed. After making your selection, click Continue, then Allow and Install. The app will be installed in the chosen sub-accounts with your custom usage-based pricing already applied.

Step 5: Install the App from Within a Sub-Account

If an app supports installation at the sub-account level, users within that sub-account can also install it directly. The pricing you configured at the agency level will be visible during this process.

To install from a sub-account, log into the sub-account, go to the App Marketplace from the main menu, and find the app. Click on the app name, then click Install, followed by Allow and Install.
