Setting Your Default Brand Board

What a Default Brand Board Does

Your default brand board is the central reference point for your brand's visual style within the CRM. It defines the primary set of colors, fonts, and logos that appear at the top of selection menus in editors for emails, websites, and funnels. Setting a default ensures your core branding is always the first and easiest choice when designing new content.

When to Update Your Default Brand Board

Consider changing your default brand board in these situations:

  • Major Brand Refresh: When you officially update your company's primary colors, logo, or typography.
  • Consolidating Brands: If you manage multiple brands and need to switch the primary one used for most new projects.
  • New Business Focus: When starting a new campaign or product line that requires a different dominant visual identity.

For temporary campaigns or seasonal themes, it's often better to create a separate, non-default brand board rather than changing the default. This lets you easily apply the special theme where needed while keeping your core brand accessible.

How to Set a New Default Brand Board

Method 1: From the Brand Boards List

Navigate to the main Brand Boards section. You can typically find it under the main Marketing menu or within your account Settings.

  1. Locate the brand board you want to set as the new default in the list.
  2. Click the three-dot menu icon (...) next to that board's name.
  3. Select Set as Default from the dropdown menu.

Method 2: While Editing a Brand Board

  1. Click on a brand board to open its editor.
  2. Look for a Set as Default button, usually located in the top-right corner of the editor.
  3. Click the button to make that board the default.

Confirming the Change

After setting a new default, the board's status in the main list will update to show Default. You can also open any editor (like for an email or website page) and check the color and font pickers. The colors and fonts from your new default board should now appear at the top of those selection menus.

Common Questions

Can I change the default board later?

Yes. You can repeat the process at any time to set a different brand board as the default. Only one board can hold the default status at a time.

What happens to my existing emails and pages when I change the default?

Changing the default brand board does not automatically update any content you've already created. Existing emails, websites, and funnels will retain their current styling. The change only affects the options presented first in editors for new content or when you make future edits to existing items.

What if I don't have any brand boards yet?

The first brand board you create will automatically be set as your default. You'll need to create at least one brand board before you can manage default settings.
