Understanding Rebilling, Reselling, and Agency Wallets
An Overview of Rebilling, Reselling, and Wallets
Your CRM platform uses a flexible billing model where you only pay for what you use for services like email, phone, and AI. This guide explains the core concepts of the Agency Wallet, Rebilling, and Reselling, which help you manage costs and create revenue opportunities.
What is an Agency Wallet?
The Agency Wallet is a pre-paid credit balance for your account. When you activate services, an initial amount is charged to your agency's payment card on file and added to the wallet. As you or your sub-accounts use services, the cost is deducted from this wallet balance.
If the wallet balance drops below a predefined minimum threshold, it automatically reloads by charging your agency's payment card again. This cycle ensures services remain active as long as there is a valid payment method.
What is Rebilling?
Rebilling allows you to pass the cost of service usage from your sub-accounts back to them. When enabled, your agency's Stripe account charges the sub-account's payment card to pre-load a wallet for that sub-account. As the sub-account uses services, the cost is first deducted from your Agency Wallet, and then that amount is deducted from the sub-account's wallet. You can choose to charge the sub-account the exact CRM price to recover costs or add a markup to generate profit. Rebilling features are available on specific agency subscription plans.
What is Reselling?
Reselling allows you to offer additional services, such as third-party integrations for websites, messaging, or AI, directly to your sub-accounts. You set the price for these services, creating an additional revenue stream and adding value for your clients. The billing mechanics are similar to rebilling, where the sub-account is charged through your agency's Stripe account.
How the Agency Wallet Works
The system is designed to charge your Agency Wallet for all service usage, including usage by your sub-accounts. The key points of operation are:
- Usage costs are always deducted from the Agency Wallet first.
- If rebilling or reselling is enabled, your agency's Stripe account charges the sub-account to recover these costs.
- The platform's own payment system never charges a sub-account's card directly; all charges are processed through your agency's Stripe account.
- If a wallet balance reaches zero, services may be interrupted.
- If a payment fails during an auto-reload, the system will attempt to charge other cards previously added to the customer profile in your Stripe account.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I update my agency's payment method?
You can update your primary agency payment card from the billing settings within your CRM dashboard.
How does a sub-account update their payment method?
If rebilling is enabled, the sub-account user must add or update their card information through the payment prompts presented to them by your agency's Stripe system.
What happens if the wallet balance goes to zero?
If the Agency Wallet is depleted, the associated services may be paused until the wallet is reloaded with a successful payment.
What about Stripe fees for the agency?
Standard Stripe processing fees apply to all charges made through your agency's Stripe account to sub-accounts.
