Using Assets Protected Snapshots
Overview
Assets Protected Snapshots is a feature designed to safeguard your intellectual property when sharing configurations with other users. When enabled, it prevents the assets within the snapshot from being re-shared or duplicated into new snapshots by the recipient, helping you maintain control over your valuable work.
Why Use Assets Protected Snapshots?
If you create and sell complex assets like workflows, funnels, or other CRM configurations, you need a way to share them without the risk of unauthorized resale. A standard snapshot can be imported by a client who could then create their own snapshot from it and share it with others. Assets Protected Snapshots stop this chain, ensuring that your proprietary assets cannot be easily redistributed, protecting your investment and business model.
Creating a Protected Snapshot Share Link
To share your assets with protection enabled, follow these steps.
Step 1: Generate a New Share Link
Navigate to the area in your CRM where you manage snapshots and open the modal to create a new share link. Before generating the link, look for and enable the option labeled "Enable Assets Protection" or similar. Activating this setting is what applies the protection to your shared assets.
Step 2: Share the Protected Link
Once the link is generated with assets protection enabled, you can distribute it to your clients or other users. When they use this link to import the snapshot, the included assets will be tagged as protected within their account.
Using a Protected Snapshot
If you are working in a sub-account that was created using assets from a protected snapshot, your ability to create new snapshots from those assets is limited.
Creating a Snapshot from Protected Assets
When you go to create a new snapshot in that sub-account, the system will display a list of assets available for inclusion. Any assets that originated from a protected snapshot will be clearly marked, for example as "Restricted (Assets Protected)". These restricted assets cannot be selected or included in any new snapshot you try to create. You can only snapshot the unprotected assets you have added yourself.
