Setting Up Bulk Rebilling Markups for Multiple Sub-Accounts

Configuring Rebilling Markups for Multiple Sub-Accounts at Once

This article explains how to apply rebilling markup settings to many of your sub-accounts simultaneously. Using this feature, you can standardize your pricing strategy and manage billing operations efficiently across your entire client base.

Understanding Bulk Rebilling Markup Configuration

Bulk rebilling markup configuration is a tool that lets you define and apply markup percentages for chargeable services across multiple sub-accounts in a single action. Instead of updating each account individually, you can enforce consistent pricing policies for all selected accounts, saving significant time and reducing manual errors.

Benefits of Using Bulk Configuration

Applying markups in bulk offers several key advantages for your agency:

  • Increased Efficiency: Update dozens or hundreds of accounts in minutes, freeing up time for other tasks.
  • Pricing Consistency: Ensure all clients are billed according to the same markup structure, maintaining uniform profit margins.
  • Scalable Management: Easily roll out new service prices or adjustments to your entire client portfolio at once.
  • Reduced Errors: A single configuration step minimizes the risk of mistakes that can occur with individual account edits.
  • Faster Onboarding: Quickly set up billing for new clients as part of a streamlined onboarding process.

Tracking Your Bulk Actions

All bulk operations are recorded in the Bulk Action History. You can review this log to see the status of past actions, see which accounts were updated, and, if necessary, re-run a previous action. To access the Bulk Action History, navigate to the Sub-Accounts page and click the clock icon located next to the Bulk Actions button.

How to Configure Rebilling Markups in Bulk

Follow these steps to set up rebilling markups for multiple sub-accounts.

Step 1: Select the Sub-Accounts

From your agency dashboard, go to the Sub-Accounts section. Check the boxes next to the sub-accounts you wish to update. You can use the available filters or the Select All option for large batches.

Step 2: Initiate the Bulk Action

Click the Bulk Actions button in the upper-right corner of the page. From the dropdown menu that appears, select Enable Rebilling.

Step 3: Select a Payment Provider

A pop-up window will appear, prompting you to choose a payment provider (e.g., Stripe). Select your connected provider and click Continue. If you have not yet connected a payment provider, you will need to complete that setup first.

Step 4: Configure the Markup Settings

In the Configure Rebilling Services window, you will see a list of services (such as Phone, Email, and AI). You can use the global slider labeled Enable rebilling on all services and apply same markup to set one markup percentage for every service. Alternatively, you can adjust the individual sliders for each service to set specific markups. Click the arrow icon next to a service to view a detailed breakdown of its rates.

Step 5: Confirm the Action

A confirmation dialog will show a summary, including the number of sub-accounts you are about to update. Review the details and click Enable Rebilling to apply the new settings.

Step 6: Verify Activation

For sub-accounts that already have a payment card on file, rebilling will become active immediately with the new markups. For sub-accounts without a payment method, a customer profile will be created with your selected provider. Rebilling will automatically activate once the sub-account administrator adds a card, using the markups you predefined.

Important Notes and Best Practices

  • Markup settings are saved for sub-accounts even if they don't have a payment method yet; rebilling will begin once a card is added.
  • Always double-check your markup percentages to ensure they align with your agency's financial goals.
  • Periodically review your rebilling configurations to maintain consistency across all sub-accounts as your policies evolve.
  • Consider integrating this bulk setup into your standard operating procedures for new client onboarding.
