How to Upload a Subtitle File

You can add subtitles to a video lesson by uploading a standard SubRip (.srt) file.

1. Navigate to Sites and then Courses.
2. Open the specific course you wish to edit.
3. Click on the lesson that contains your video.
4. Next to the video player, locate and click the Upload Subtitles option.
5. Select a .srt file from your computer.
6. Choose the corresponding language for the subtitles from the dropdown menu.
7. Click Save to attach the file to your video.

Editing with the Visual Subtitle Editor

After uploading a file, you can refine your subtitles using the built-in visual editor.

• Click the Edit Subtitles button next to your uploaded file.
• The editor displays your subtitles in a list with their associated timestamps and text.
• Click on any timestamp to jump the video player to that moment for easy context.
• The system will flag potential issues, such as overlapping timecodes. Hover over a warning icon to see details.
• Click directly into any subtitle line to edit the text or adjust its start and end times.
• Select Save Changes when you are finished.

Using Raw Mode for Manual Editing

For advanced control, you can edit the subtitle file directly in Raw Mode, which displays the raw .srt format.

• Within the Subtitle Editor, click the Switch to Raw Mode button.
• You can now edit the file directly, modifying timestamps and text according to the .srt structure.
• Ensure your syntax is correct to avoid playback errors.
• Click Save to apply your manual edits.
