Transferring Your Domain to a Different CRM Account

Overview

This guide explains how to transfer a domain registered through your CRM to a different CRM account. The process involves preparation steps on the receiving account and final approval once the transfer is initiated.

Prerequisites

You must have access to the CRM account where you want to transfer the domain.

Prepare to Transfer

Step 1: Add the Domain to the New Account

Log into the CRM account where you want the domain transferred. Click the option to add a new website and enter the domain name you wish to transfer. Select a plan (Free or Paid) for the website.

Review the scanned DNS records against your current DNS configuration. If they match, proceed. If not, manually adjust the records to ensure they are identical. Important: Ensure the proxy setting is turned off for all DNS records before continuing. Do not change nameservers at this stage.

Step 2: Obtain and Share the Account ID

After completing the previous step, locate the account ID for this CRM account. This is typically an alphanumeric value found within the account's URL. Share this account ID with the person or team managing your domain transfer.

Initiating the Transfer

Once the preparation steps are complete and the account ID is provided, the transfer process will be initiated. This process typically begins within 24 hours of receiving the necessary information.

Approving the Transfer

After the transfer is initiated, you will need to approve it. Navigate to the Domain Registration section, find the domain in the Manage Domains area, and click the Manage button. Accept the transfer request. The transfer should finalize within 24 hours of your acceptance, and the domain's status will change to Active.

Understanding the 'Invalid Nameservers' Status

It is common for the domain to temporarily display an 'Invalid Nameservers' status in the account overview after the transfer is accepted. This is a normal part of the process and typically resolves automatically within 24 hours. No action is required from you during this period.
