Using Advanced Filters in Site Analytics
What Are Advanced Filters?
Advanced Filters in Site Analytics allow you to refine your website and funnel data by applying specific conditions, helping you focus on particular segments of your traffic. Instead of viewing broad analytics totals, you can isolate data based on criteria like location, device type, traffic source, and more.
You can combine multiple filters using AND/OR logic and even create nested filter groups for complex segmentation—all without exporting your data.
Benefits of Using Advanced Filters
- Segment Data Precisely: Filter by geographic location, page title, browser, device, traffic source, and other attributes.
- Combine Multiple Conditions: Apply several filters at once to analyze specific audience groups or behavior patterns.
- Use Flexible Logic: Choose AND or OR conditions between filters to control how they interact.
- Create Nested Filters: Group related conditions together for more detailed segmentation.
- Easy Reset Options: Remove individual filters or clear all filters to start fresh.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do basic filters still apply when I use Advanced Filters?
Yes. Basic filters like the selected asset and date range continue to shape your data. Advanced Filters further narrow those results.
What’s the difference between Add Filter and Add Nested Filter?
Add Filter adds a new condition at the current level. Add Nested Filter creates a subgroup of conditions that can be combined with their own logic before interacting with the rest of the filter set.
Are Advanced Filters saved if I leave the page?
No. Advanced Filters do not persist after refreshing the page or navigating away from Site Analytics. You’ll need to recreate them when you return.
