Automatically Schedule Social Posts from an RSS Feed

Streamline Your Social Media with Automated RSS Posting

Keep your social media channels active by automatically publishing new content from any valid RSS or Atom feed directly through your CRM's Social Planner. This feature is ideal for effortlessly sharing your latest blog articles, podcast releases, video updates, or news items, eliminating the need for manual posting.

Important Note: Due to API limitations, posting to Twitter/X via an RSS feed is not supported. This functionality is available for all other social networks that can be connected within Social Planner.

What You'll Need

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

  • A valid RSS or Atom feed URL (for example, from a blog or a YouTube channel).
  • At least one social media account (such as a Facebook Page, Instagram Business account, LinkedIn Profile/Page, Google Business Profile, or Pinterest) connected in your CRM under Marketing → Social Planner → Settings.

Setting Up an Automated RSS Post

Follow these steps to create a workflow that publishes new items from your RSS feed to your chosen social channels.

Step 1: Access the RSS Post Feature

Go to Marketing and select Social Planner. Click on New Post, and then choose the RSS Post option.

Step 2: Enter the RSS Feed URL

In the provided field, paste the full URL of your RSS feed.

Step 3: Choose Social Networks

Select the social media accounts where you want the posts to be published.

Step 4: Add a Custom Ending (Optional)

You can use the End with field to append custom text, hashtags, or a link to the end of each automated post.

Step 5: Set the Update Frequency

Choose how often the system should check the RSS feed for new content. You can set the frequency to check every 5 minutes, or at longer intervals up to once per day.

Step 6: Set the Maximum Number of Posts

Specify how many unique, new items should be fetched from the feed each time it is checked. You can set a value between 1 and 5. For example, selecting '3' means the system will publish up to the three most recent new items found in the feed. Each item is posted only once.

Step 7: Configure the Post Content (Optional)

You can choose to include the full item description from the RSS feed in your social posts. Enable the Include Description option to publish posts with both the title and description. If disabled, only the title will be posted. A preview is available to show you how the posts will appear on different social platforms, helping you manage content length and formatting before saving.

How Duplicate Post Protection Works

To ensure content is not missed or posted multiple times, the Social Planner tracks items from your RSS feed for a period of 90 days. When the feed is checked, each item is identified by its unique GUID. If a GUID is not available, the system uses a combination of the item's link and title. This process prevents the same item from being published more than once.
