Social Planner: Sync Existing Instagram Posts

About Instagram Post Sync

Instagram Post Sync is a CRM feature that automatically imports your previously published Instagram content into the Social Planner. This allows you to view, manage, and analyze your past and future content from one central calendar, eliminating the need to manually track or recreate posts across different platforms.

Key Benefits

  • Unified Content Calendar: See all your Instagram content, both historical and scheduled, in a single view.
  • Accurate Performance Tracking: Access consolidated engagement data for your posts, with metrics updated regularly.
  • Efficiency: Save time by having your content history automatically available without manual entry.

How It Works

When enabled, the feature will automatically import your Instagram posts from the last 30 days. It supports images, videos, carousels, and reels. This content will appear in your Social Planner calendar.

Important Notes on Data and Behavior:

  • Insights Refresh: Engagement metrics (likes, comments, etc.) are not real-time and are updated approximately every 24 hours.
  • Platform Limitations: Due to restrictions from Instagram's API, certain details like location tags, mentions, and collaborator information may not sync over.
  • One-Way Sync: The sync imports content from Instagram into your CRM. If you delete a post on Instagram, it will still remain visible in your Social Planner.
  • Account Type: The feature supports Instagram Professional accounts connected via Facebook or Instagram login.

Enabling Instagram Post Sync

This feature is in Beta. To use it, you must first enable it for your sub-account.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Labs.
  2. Search for Instagram Post Sync and enable the toggle for your sub-account.

Once the feature is enabled, you can activate post syncing for your connected accounts using one of the following methods.

Method 1: Enable During Account Connection

  1. Go to Marketing > Social Planner.
  2. Click + Socials.
  3. In the connection pop-up, enable the Sync Posts Automatically toggle.
  4. Click Connect Instagram and complete the account linking process. Syncing will begin automatically.

Method 2: Enable for an Already Connected Account

  1. Go to Marketing > Social Planner.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Navigate to Social Accounts > Instagram.
  4. Find the specific page and enable the Sync Posts toggle. The system will start syncing posts in the background.

Viewing Synced Content and Data

After enabling sync, you can review your imported content and its performance.

  • Open the Planner to see your synced posts on the calendar.
  • Open Statistics to review the performance data for your synced posts.

If your connected account shows a disconnect or expired access message, follow the on-screen prompt to reconnect and resume syncing.

Platform-Specific Sync (Beta)

The Social Planner also offers similar sync capabilities for other platforms in Beta.

LinkedIn Post Sync

Supported: This feature syncs published posts from LinkedIn Organization Pages (personal profiles are not supported). It imports reactions, comments, and shares.

Limitations: Insights refresh every 24 hours. Certain post types like PDFs or Events will sync but may not show an in-app preview. Details like mentions and tagged users are unavailable due to LinkedIn API restrictions. Sync is one-way from LinkedIn to your CRM.

TikTok Post Sync

Supported: This feature syncs published videos from both TikTok Personal and Business accounts. It imports metrics like likes, comments, shares, and views.

Limitations: Insights refresh every 24 hours. Videos are displayed using TikTok's player; the original video files cannot be downloaded. Synced videos cannot be cloned into new posts. Details like location tags and music information are unavailable due to TikTok API restrictions. Sync is one-way from TikTok to your CRM.
